Summary: I finally got my scanner working so Art is available. I'm still working out the bugs, but I think this is working. Based on a screencap from the deleted scenes. This one goes with my story Aboard the Dauntless. Four hours drawing hair. *Dies*

Thank you! I appreciate the comments. I tend to try being the human photo-copier, so while I have plans to reproduce some photos/screencaps of Will and Jack, I don't draw slash (Sorry). But I'm glad you liked this.

Four hours well spent! Wow, that's *so* lovely! Her hair is amazing and I adore his cravat too. I don't know enough about drawing to make an informed comment, so I'll have to content myself with swooning and fighting the insane fits of jealousy over your talent :)

Thank you. I'm so happy you think they look alive. I've drawn Elizabeth four times, and this is the first time I'm almost satisfied witht he likeness.

I'm glad you like it. Thank you for the kind words. I swear, I can teach stick-figure artists to draw like this. I used to teach junior high art. The difference is in taking the one hour over half an inch of paper.

Thank you for noticing the background. I do a lot of floating heads, but sometimes a background is nice. And it's good discipline to do the dull work as well as the fun faces.

Oh. My. God. Is there no end to your talents!? The detail in this is absolutely staggering. The texture on the fabric is so life-like it's scary. Your perspective is excellent-- backgrounds are something that drive me crazy, as that banister would look like it was growing out of Elizabeth's head.

James' cravat is superb-- folds are difficult to do at the best of times, let alone such a precise knot as that. I've tried drawing a naval hat before, and found them so frustrating, so extra credit to you for that!

Elizabeth's hair... I cannot imagine how long that took, but the outcome was well worth the time. I am supremely jealous-- do you want to do my Fine Art A level?

My talents end where math and business begin. Also I have no aim, so sports involving it are a disaster! :D I have fought backgrounds and perspective to a standstill. I still need photo references for all but the most rudimentary of architecture.

The secret is never to draw cravats or hats but only to draw shapes that you see. The objects themselves emerge if the shapes are right. Look for the shapes that aren't the objects. Draw with your source picture upside down. Draw small pieces at a time. Make 10,000 mistakes. Then, voila! Success!

Elizabeth's hair = 1/2 hour per square cenimetre! I'm glad you like it. I'd love to do any art but there's this little problem of the wee bit of water between us and the fact that I am depressingly aware that I no longer pass for a student!:(

Yes, poor James is under-represented in fanart. I like drawing the other characters in POTC as well as the big three. Thank you for the compliment. Coming from an artist such as yourself, it's doubly appreciated.

Thank you. I'm definitely a realist, although my original illustrations (no photo references) have a totally different style. I'll be posting more here in my journal, but I have a lot of Johnny Depp art that I'm not sure where to cross post. It's not POTC. And then there's the stuff that's totally my own. I'm terribly sorry, but your wonderfulness with a graphite pencil quite destroys my powers of speech! :-p The depth, detail and reality of your drawings simply blow me away. Lovely, lovely stuff! :-)
