Thank you very much. Yes, one mechanical pencil with 2B lead and a kneaded eraser and a paper tortillon for blending.

You know, as much as I love the black and white, Pintel looks a bit lost without his yellowed whites of the eyes. They are such a pair to play with, so much opportunity to work in all their details. Glad they got you through your faculty colloquium, much to our benefit. Thanks for the bright spot in the day.

I'm happier with how Ragetti turned out myself. I'm glad you enjoyed this. I do try to be a human photocopier. It's practice for the non-photo reference work I do. Thank you so much for the comments.

Do you make icons of all your drawings? Would it be okay if I either took a couple of yours, or made my own from your uploaded pics? I really love the realism in the graphite, and would like to have Ragetti and maybe your Will as an icon.

I do make icons of most of my PotC art. I don't use other people's art and that gives me some choice of icons. I'm honoured that you like the pictures enough to want icons. I'm fine with your using them or making your own as long as you credit me for the art in either case and for the icon as well if you use one of mine.

Thank you so much. I've always loved drawing people, but these are way better than I used to do. Give yourself 30 or so years of experience before worrying about "odious comparisons" :D Your cartoons are very cute.

This is so cool. I love their faces. I really really love how you did the wrinkles because that always gives me trouble. :)

Thank you! It's always great to hear from another artist. Wrinkles become easier when you cease to think of them as lines and only think of them as shapes of light and shadow. Then you leave light the part towards your light source and darken the part away from it.

Somehow when I try it they look less like wrinkles and more like fat folds. :)

It helps to make sure the lines of shading don't curve so the shape stays flat and then I pick up the highlight with a kneaded eraser.

Oh, wow! How absolutely stunning. Once again your attention to detail is mind-boggling-- Pintel's beard! It's so scrubby! This is gorgeous, I love the lines on Pintel's forehead, and Ragetti's false eye.

Just amazing, not much else I can say ^^ This is going in my memories so I can check back to it whenever I want :)

Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoy the detail. Pintel's beard took some doing to figure out what would give that wiry effect and still have shape, but I've always loved drawing wrinkles and eyes. I'm honoured that you, the ultimate Moog fan, would memory this. :D

I haven't seen any great pictures of Stellan Skarsgard so I don't know if I'll be able to do much with the younger Bootstrap. As for virgo_79's stories, I've done a Young Jack Sparrow for her and am going to do the mermaid when she's done writing and I know what it looks like.

Pintel's beard was a challenge. It's so undirectional and wiry. It actually turned out looking better than I thought it would. I did a lot of just scribbling! Thank you for your kind words.
