Another drabble for the “Down Time” Challenge at Black Pearl Sails. Will Turner this time. Only 10 words over—I’m getting better. I love these things.

For All Time I
By Honorat

In the governor’s eyes, he is a common labourer—no fine connections; no political prospects; his income derived from his own sweat.

In the eyes of his peers, he has no place, now. He is no longer entirely of their world— marrying an heiress, brushing daily with the powers in their lives.

But in her dark eyes that burn like the heart of a molten sword, he is a hero. She sees him as so much more than he is, forges him with her very belief into becoming what she sees. Down time and for all of eternity, he will look for himself only in the mirror of her eyes.

* * * * *

This one developed out of a conversation with [livejournal.com profile] erinrua. Inspired by her recent post A Vignette and Drabble . Elizabeth Swann this time.

For All Time II
By Honorat

When she had come to him in that cave, saving his life, he did not dismiss her help. Did not lock her up for her safety or failed trust. He fought by her side, shoulder to shoulder.

When he’d risked all to save a good man from death, she’d stood by his side, adding her influence, so he’d not face the penalty alone.

Now the battle has shifted. The delicately edged word. The significant raised eyebrow. The unwritten rules.

But wherever life takes them, from drawing room to drawn swords, down time and for all of eternity, she will have his back and he will have hers.

I love these!

LOL, and what a nice alternate take on the phrase "down time."

Meanwhile, please excuse me while I SQWEEEEEEEEEEE to see such wonderful Will-writing. Heh heh, I'm all for anything that might help redeem poor overlooked Will - and you do everything so beautifully. 'Tis my honor that I could be any influence on you, at all. Thanks for sharing these beautiful drabbles! :-)
Cheers ~

Erin

*Blush* Aww thanks. I'm so pleased that you liked these. You're a hard act to follow, and your Will-writing is so lyrical. My first time through the movie, I quite liked Will.

I know I was pushing this week's phrase around. I thought of all the usual meanings of it--rest or in need of repairs--and had a few ideas. But it tickled my fancy to try something more unusual. LOL indeed.

I hate to say it, because I'm a die hard JxE fan, but these were so cute.

I refuse to give in to the cuteness that is Elizabeth and Will.

Okay, maybe just this once. But I'll use this icon to balance it out. ;)

Very nice little drabbles. :D

Sending out great waves of ExW cuteness. Mwahahaha! I'm glad to suspend your disbelief for a moment. I enjoy JxE myself although I haven't written it--though I suppose my Marooned story could go either way. Nice icon btw. Thanks for commenting.

Ouuh, yes, I love your Marooned because of it is just hanging there on the edge of being Sparrabeth. ♥

I think I might be able to handle WxE in small doeses like this. I can't believe I just said that. Wow. What have you done to me?!

Well in the movie Jack was certainly willing to give Sparrabeth a try :)But Elizabeth wasn't in the end.
Oh baby it must be loooove --to quote Kiera. Just develop a split personality. I find it works great.

Ah yes, the answer to most things in the world.

And as for Elizabeth at the end of the film, well, by the spoilers I've heard of the new movie, there is still hope for my ship to stay afloat. :D

Yes I did notice the "weddingus interruptus" is scheduled and I've seen pictures of Elizabeth off pirating with Jack. So I guess we'll see what happens. As long as Cap'n Jack is up to his usual tricks, it's all good.

As usual, excellent writing. This is so well done, good job making them a partnership, standing at each other's backs against the world, as a true relationship, rather than as rescuer/subordinate. Neither Will nor Liz would thrive under that. Downtime----also good use of term, double entendre there: can mean the 'horizontal polka' as well as 'time away from the turmoil of the world.' As for split personality?
Like sex and the polka, it is more fun than it looks *pen #1*
Ignore her, she is evil *Pen #2*
Listen, I'm not schizophrenic, but I think THEY are. *Pen #3*

Is that you Pen? Thanks to all three? of you for commenting. Yeah, Elizabeth and Will should be partners. They each try to rescue the other and it always struck me that Will was the only one who accepted and welcomed Elizabeth's help. All three or four (or possibly more)of me thanks all of you for commenting.

Read these last night but my connection wouldn't let me comment! I thought both drabbles were very sweet and entirely caught their personalities.

I'm glad you liked these. Will and Elizabeth are very endearing together. I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen for them in the next movie.

They're both so great. I like the first one for the way you showed everyone's uneasiness towards Will except for Elizabeth. And the second one because it's more about why Will and Elizabeth work together. I'm especially fond of the ending of the second one: "...she will have his back and he will have hers."

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you liked Will's uneasy position in Port Royal Society. He really has left one world for another he doesn't quite belong to either. That last line of the second one is one of my favorites too--just how I see Elizabeth and Will.

Thank you. I do enjoy trying to see all the possibilities in the challenge words which works particularly well when there are two of them.
