Summary: More bad doggerel! Where is that never-to-be-sufficiently-despised muse!

Sparrow the Crazy Pirate (to the tune of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer)

Sparrow, the crazy pirate, had a very shiny smile,
And if you ever saw it, you would know he’s full of guile.
All of the other pirates used to laugh and call him daft.
They never knew Jack Sparrow was the master of his craft.

Then one foggy summer’s eve, Barbossa came to say
Give me my medallion while I blow you all away.

Sparrow, the crazy pirate, had a very lovely ship,
And when again he saw her, he gave the commodore the slip.
Taking a blacksmith with him, picking up a gov’nor’s lass
Sparrow, the crazy pirate, set out to kick some --- (am I allowed to say this in a Christmas carol? Well you know what I mean)

Then one foggy summer’s eve, Sparrow came to say,
Give me my Black Pearl while I blow you all away.

Then all the pirates left him, and the navy hanged him—wait just a bloody minute! Something’s gone wrong with this story and the rhyme!

Then Will and Lizbeth saved him,
And he landed in the sea.
Sparrow, the crazy pirate, will go down in history!

Phew! That was a close shave!

Oh, thank heavens you've already parodied this (and very cleverly!!), because I went to the mall yesterday and I heard "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer" about eight times too many and was truly lamenting that both "commodore" and "norrington" have three syllables when "rudolf" and "reindeer" only have two... Though "gilette" has two... ;-) I've been saved from the demented parody muse! Yet I have this bad feeling that it's one of those things that once you catch it, you eventually recover but you never really get rid of it! ;-)

This was great, I love it! SO much better than the original!! Now I have to keep looking back through your journal to see if you've parodied "Let it Snow" or "Walking in a Winterwonderland", which I also heard a dozen or so more times than was really healthy yesterday at the stores... :-)

I'm glad to provide this public service--Muzak redeemed while you wait! Let's see:

Norrie the bold commodore
Had a very shiny sword,
And if you ever saw it,
your neck would soon meet a cord.

*Wanders off humming*

I suppose that pestilential muse will insist that I finish this. Thank you very much! XP

I have not yet finished the two carols you're looking for but they have come under the scrutiny of the Zombie Muse, so I'm sure trouble is on the way.

Oh, I hadn't thought to shorten Norrington to "Norrie" - that's probably a good thing, or else I would be the one besieged by the zombie parody muse... Sorry about that, though. ;-)

I almost didn't dare make that comment about those two songs for fear that the parody muse would strike again - you or me or both! Lucky for me, I have eight zillion things to do before I get on a plane on Monday and I'm afraid the parody muse will be thwarted by the hustle and bustle of preparation and packing. Your parodies are much better than mine, anyway. :-)
