Summary: More Navy Christmas Carols. Jack is going to be jealous. To the tune of "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer".

* * * * *

Norrie the bold commodore
Had a very shiny sword,
And if you ever saw it,
Your neck would soon meet a cord.

All of the other pirates
Used to quake and call him Scourge
They knew that if he caught them,
Their only song would be a dirge.

Then one sunny summer day, Sparrow came to say
Norrie with your sword so bright,
Look the other way tonight!

Then all the pirates loved him,
And they shouted out with glee,
Norrie the bold commodore,
Let at least one man run free!

You are the parody genius. *bows in admiration* clever, clever!! :-) Can I take credit for inspiring the first verse? ;-) (Perhaps "inspiring" isn't exactly the appropriate word - loosing the rabid parody muse might be a better way of putting it...) ;-)

Very clever use of the original words. A great improvement over the original, as classic *cough*cough*overused*cough* as it is. :-)

I did "credit" you with provoking this burp of the muse. :D I'm glad you liked it. Now I will also blame you for the "Let it Snow" parody from Elizabeth's POV that is coming right up. Be careful what you wish for.

Your muse deserves merry christmas and a movie next year.

I was about to ask if you could do "We wish you a merry Christmas". Now I've tried myself (hoping the English language will forgive me one day), to make it up for the hanged pirate.

littlebird

------

We wish you a lot of plunder,
we wish you a lot of plunder,
we wish you a lot of plunder: swag for many a year.
Fair winds and tides bring the gold of the king
to pirates for Christmas, oh never you fear.

Oh let Jamie chase the Spanish,
Oh let Jamie chase the Spanish,
Oh let Jamie chase the Spanish , don't let him near here.

We won't go until we get rum.
We won't go until we get rum,
We won't go until we get rum; wine won't do, nor beer

I do hope my muse is getting the PotC2 Movie next year! I'm glad you've enjoyed the parodies. And they're contagious. You've committed your next one! Abandon hope!

This is great! I love it. It's great to sing, and I especially like the last verse. ROFLOL! Excellent work, mate!

Thank you. I support a lot of things other people don't (like gay marriage and Aboriginals) and someone was having a go at me the other day because of it so I found this and made it my icon.

You muse is not contagious. Mine still doesn't work properly.
Yours came up with the idea of carols with that special 'female touch', upon which mine thought of Anamaria. And all she came up with is this lousy chorus:

"Slap him well, slap him well,
strike him on the quay!
Captain's head rocks to the side,
dreadlocks spin away."

*complain-mode off*

Hope abandoned. What now?

Oh I think your muse is warming up nicely. The little chorus is great fun. Perhaps for the verses you could work with when Jack stole Anamaria's boat? Run with it fast, because my muse is already clamouring about it. *Shuts up her plagiarizing little muse*

You've got a talent for this. Now you need a nice free LiveJournal account to post these to so that people will give you comments too!

May I also recommend carols by [livejournal.com profile] erinrua? You can find them at Christmas Filks (http://www.livejournal.com/users/erinrua/19640.html?#cutid1). In my opinion she's written the ultimate "Winter Wonderland" parody.

Thanks for the link! Yes, that is definitely the ultimate "Winter Wonderland" parody!! I have go learn it now so I can sing it! :-)

This muse is not warming up, it's exhausted.
*drops empty muse into the waste paper basket*

To your muse: Take what you can!

I thought to focus on noises:
the jingling from the trinkets in Jack's hair when he's slapped, the bells he hears when Ana strikes hard, ...
Or perhaps the joy of slapping: "Oh what fun it is to slap - left, right, either way".
But me and the English language ... *sigh*

OK, I'll shut up now until I'll have a journal of my own and actually write in it. See you in ten years!

Merry Christmas

No no no! Don't let your lovely little muse die! You're welcome to keep posting parodies here! I'm busy trying to drown Jack and co. so I have no time to parody anyway!

I like your idea of playing with the various things ringing--beads, ears, peals etc.

Too bad. Would your time perhaps allow you to elaborate on this, improve it, extend it, correct it, discard it, whatever? (It's all I could come up with.) I'd prefer if you would not drown Jack anyway.

merry christmas

littlebird & the dead muse

once my boat he stole
in the dead of night
now I've caught this fowl
by his trinkets bright.
Bells he'll soon hear ring
I'll hit him left and right
watch his head-adornments spin
and celebrate tonight

slap him well, slap him well
strike him on the quay
captain's head rocks to the side
dreadlocks spin away
slap him well, slap him well
strike him on the quay
captain's head rocks to the side
dreadlocks spin away

he will apologize
and he'll make amends
or I'll treat his face
all day with my hands.
should also like to spank
till his bum is hot
red like father christmas' coat
can't lie down in his cot

slap him well, hard like hell
jingling, trinkets fly
oh what fun it is to slap
left, right, either way
slap him well, hard like hell
jingling, trinkets fly
oh what fun it is to slap
left, right, either way

this is really funny i've now read all your carols i'm working on one now to the tune of 'god rest ye merry gentlemen' about jack sparrow. Any help or advice you could give me would be great an' if you want to write a carol to this tune as well don't let me stop you

I'm so glad you've enjoyed the parody carols. And it's great that you're inspired to try your own. I found it worked the best for me to print out the words to the actual song and then start changing the lines one at a time. Also, I'd make lists of possible rhyming words. The muse seems to have worked itself out of my system for now--we'll see what happens next Christmas. Thank you for the comments.
