Summary: My very own Art! An illustration for a story that I started to write. My attitude towards housework! This one just grew, so the physics is a little off, but I still like the expression on the young lady's face. This is her first time ever having to do her own laundry. "You have got to be kidding" is the basic sentiment. But the view is better than most.

Yeah she definitely doesn't look very happy! Is that a headband she's wearing, or a white streak in her hair? I only ask because she reminds me of the heroine of my novel, who is stuck-up and rich and conceited, and she's got the white in her hair. And that is exactly how she would look if she had to do her own laundry. :-)

I get that exact expression on my face when I have to do laundry...and I have the washer and dryer thing.

I love this!

It's a headband, which for some reason, this character always has even though no one else in the story does. She definitely was rich, but she's not conceited. It just never in the universe occurred to her that laundry actually had to be "done"! Work is a new concept to her. Your story sounds intriguing. I always like annoying heroines. Thank you so much for commenting.

Ha! I can handle the washer dryer part, but the ironing makes me look like that! Thank you very much.

Ironing? What is this "ironing" of which you speak? ::puzzled::

Just think how much better we'd all feel about doing laundry if we had that scenery! *wants to wander off and explore cave behind waterfall* Think what I like best is the look on her companion's face as he enjoys her frustration.

"Ironing" is that pile of things you bought because they looked nice and you ignored the fact that the first time they got washed they were going to turn into a heap of little crinkles that can't be got out without an autoclave and a steam roller and so they sit in a pile in a laundry basket for months until you have a special occasion and you absolutely finally have to go plug in the iron and attempt to return them to their newly purchase splendour, but you only succeed in ironing in nice crisp new wrinkles alongside the crinkles, and you swear you will never again waste money on anything that is not wash-and-wear until the next sale and it's so perfect and repeat ad nauseum.

You can find that waterfall, or at least the one that inspired this, somewhere just outside of Hilo, Hawaii. People (who have a lot more nerve than me) jump off it! Maybe I should paint this picture on the laundry walls!

Yes, the young man is much better at this than she is, so her amateur attempts are amusing him.

Thanks so much for dropping by.

Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the detail. I tend to go overboard with that. :D
