Summary: My very own Art! I had a live model for this one. We were camping at Wallowa Lake and this gentleman decided to settle down in our campsite and ruminate. So I drew his portrait. Isn't he handsome?

Very handsome! And handsomely done.

I think this may be my favorite portrait of yours yet. :-)

It is hard to beat one of the forest kings for sheer beauty. I'm sure he'd be flattered. Thank you.

My goodness! That stag is certainly not shy-- they all run away the moment they sense you over here.

It's certainly a lovely capture-- nice texture on his coat, and he's got a lovely, serene expression. He's certainly extremely handsome!

Oh yes, the deer at this lake are the opposite of shy. Technically, they are wild and can go out in the forest and get hunted, but they know they're safe in the campgrounds, so they are very relaxed. Some of them have become excellent panhandlers! I almost got mugged by one for a plate of cinnamon rolls. This guy in fact stretched out his hind leg just before I got to shading it, so I had a friend tap him on the leg so he'd put it back.

He was indeed a delightful model. Thanks for the lovely comment.

I am in awe of your skills as an artist!

I know someone who would love to encounter such beautiful, unshy deer, and take photos of them. And that he stayed there long enough for you to do his portrait - wow. Fabulous.

Thank you very much. Yes, the deer at Wallowa Lake are absolutely predictably available to be photographed. I've got hours of video tape, that would drive anyone crazy to watch, of a lovely little stag munching fireweed. If your friend ever makes it to the Wallowa Mountains, the lake is near the town of Joseph, Oregon, USA. The males are really in herds in the late summer.
