Date: 2005-11-19 01:29 am (UTC)I do usually competely draw these as line art. Perhaps, if I remember, I can post a sequence from start to finish some time. At the line art stage, before I've wasted time shading something that's going to look wrong, I can worry about line and angle and proportion. I did the line art for this one on at least three different pages, trying to get the right size and fit them both on it. Once the outline is done, I go back and adjust all the lines, and then adjust them again. I love my eraser. Then I'll even faintly outline all the shapes of wrinkles and shadows. They look pretty funny at that stage--sort of like paint-by-numbers. Sometimes I can't resist shading in the faces first. Faces are my favourite.
Thanks again for the feedback.
