Yes, my early dabbles in architecture tended to be ruinous anyway. The classical influence is here although not too accurate. I do have a serious obsession with sketching, so the meetings are a good thing. I'm glad you are amused by the contents of my twisted little mind. Thank you for dropping by to comment.

I'm the said friend. I've not posted the story anywhere yet. I'm writing a set of three novel-length stories, and have stalled near the start of book three for over a year, distracted by fanfic and other things. I do intend to return to it soon, though, so who knows?

The story is set near the sea, in a village where everyone is fairly Dark Age in life-style and attitude. On a cliff over the sea is a Classical-style ruin, which the people think was made by a strange and mighty race of others. In fact, it was made by their own ancestors, because a great catastrophe happened hundreds of years ago that changed a lot of things. There's a lot more to the story, but the image of the ruins by the sea is a very pervasive one.

This is lovely picture, and really does fit my story very well.

Your story sounds very intriguing. In a way, this was an illustration for a story that I write on occasionally, but the ruins were just there because I like ruins, not because they were part of the story.
